A few words from the artist

"Throughout my art education, I found myself focussing on realism, portraying in as much detail and mood real situations, portraits and scenes. Inspired by the masters Caravaggio and Velasquez, I strove mastery over fine detail. As I progressed, new teachers opened up the adventure in me, and I began to find my source of influence from the likes of Rothko, Pollock, Auerbach and even Picasso, taking all the finesse and colour judgement to a purely representational form.

In my art I love to explore colour and shape, abstracting what I see and have experienced. I attempt to capture a mood, a moment or feeling. I work primarily in acrylic, but have an interest in collage, and mixed media works as well.

Now as a teaching student, I still find precious time to capture on canvas, the vibrant, but often subtle melodies and textures that life throws my way."
